1st Communion Celebration

1st Communion Celebration
Designed by: Danielle with Living Out Loud

Today's feature is a delightful table created by Danielle with Living Out Loud. To celebrate her son's 1st Communion, Danielle put together this amazing and bright colored table using the Jocelyn's Parties Crafts and More new 1st Communion Printable Party Set.

I LOVE how Danielle incorporated the printables with handmade details such as the party circles hung from the chandelier, the small personalized banner in the centre of the table and all the accent party circles throughout the table.

This setting is a perfect example of how to make the best use of your printables.

Beautifully designed sweet treats were used as a centrepiece and matched with colored flowers. Little touches such as the personalized small banner and little notes for guests were great ways to use the printables in non-traditional ways. Even the wine glasses were wrapped with water bottle labels.

What a great way to celebrate such a special and momentous day!

Thank you Danielle for sharing your wonderful day with us.

Hockey Party

End of the season Hockey Party for the HRS HAWKS.
Designed By: Carolyn from Quebec, Canada

It's that time of the year when we hang up our kids hockey gear for the season and look to celebrate the successes and achievements of the season.

Recently I had the privilege of working on a customized end of the season party for the HRS HAWKS.

HRS members, volunteers and coaches are passionate about their teams, so I wanted the Printables to reflect their pride. I  customized the look by incorporating team logos and colors into the design.

A projector screen was used as a backdrop and showcased those great moments celebrated throughout the season. Team colors were incorporated into the tissue paper fans and pompoms, balloons and banners. Little touches such as the HRS letters added to the centerpieces with 2 inch party circles and water bottle wraps personalized with every child's number and name (info removed from photo) brought the look together.

What a great way to celebrate the season.

Thank you to the HRS HAWKS for sharing your photos.

Way to go HAWKS!

1st Communion

I love entertaining and organizing all the details that go into making a party memorable. This weekend we celebrated my son’s 1st Communion. Planning a party such as this is so different from planning a Birthday Party. In organizing all the details, I wanted the look and feel to be simple yet chic. My inspiration came from the beautiful white gowns, the blue color of my son’s tie along with yellow tones of spring. I started by creating these simple spirals out of white tissue paper and added a simple banner with a blue accent spiral as a back drop.

To decorate the table, I used church pew bows to edge the table and added circle cut-outs as an accent. Although white was the main focus color, accents such as the cupcakes, and napkins brought out the blue.

Red velvet and vanilla cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies and strawberry shortcake are all my son’s favorites.

Every detail was carefully chosen with my son in mind. Even the favors decorated using brown packing paper and white ribbon included small Lego sets; a favorite toy my son is into these days.

I am so pleased with how it all came together.

Vintage Circus Party Collection
Designed By: Amanda from Missouri, USA

I always love to receive photos and see what amazing and creative ideas people put together using the Party Printables. This week I received an email from Amanda with photos of her son's 1st Birthday.

Amanda put together a fabulous Circus themed party using the Printables from the Vintage Circus Birthday Party Collection.

She set the scene with this gorgeous circus tent shaped cake. Details such as the popcorn machine, photo booth with props, sweet treats such as cotton candy cups and funnel cake transformed this party into a magical circus world, perfect for any fun loving little boy's 1st Birthday!

Thank you so much for sharing your photos Amanda!

Dinosaur Birthday Party

A Roaring Good Time!

My little guy is already 3!

Things have been so busy around here. I have not stopped in weeks! In between attending school functions, sports and activities, I managed to squeeze in some time to organize a very special Birthday Party for my Dinosaur loving little guy. It all came together a little late but I was happy with the overall look.

It was not hard to find inspiration. All of my boys at one time or another have been into Dinosaurs. These stuffed Dinosaurs made by Animal Adventures are his favorite. I decided to focus the party on them.

Here's what we put together:

The Invitation:

I wanted to create something that was clean and simple. I used the colors of the stuffed animals for inspiration. This also became the focus of all the Party Printables. Since it was too late to print the invitation and mail them, I attached it in an email.

 The Decorations:

It was so simple to find all the supplies I needed for this party. One trip to the Dollar Store and I had everything I needed:

- green plates for the table backdrop
- green grass and simple long vases as table decorations
- orange wrapping paper to use as a table runner
- 3 hula skirts to edge the table
- 1 grouping of leaves for decorations
- paper cups
- ribbon and brown paper bags for the favors
- yellow, green, brown and orange tissue paper to create pompoms

I put it all together with his stuffed animals and a few toys and it all worked well.

 The Food:

Anyone that has ever attended our parties will know that I never bake. Baking is just not something I am good at. I borrowed a few cookie cutters from my son's Preschool and decided I would give it a try. I decided to make Dinosaur cookies and cupcakes. I sat up one night in search of the perfect recipe. What a nice thought...Right! By the time I got to the grocery store to pick up all the ingredients I realized the box cake mixes were on sale. I then called my Mom to help out and have to admit that she did most of the work. By the time by Sister arrived I had them both working on decorating cookies and cupcakes. For those of you who enjoy baking I discovered the most wonderful blog: The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle. This girl is amazing! She can make a cookie of anything! Ours (Thanks Mom and Sis) didn't turn out as nice but I was pleased with them anyway. Oh and I should also admit that I ordered the Dinosaur cake from our local grocery store. My little guy didn't like the Dinosaur toys they placed on the top so we switched them for one's he liked better.

For lunch I served BBQ Chicken, Spanish Paella, Salad, Pizza Bread, Chicken Nuggets for the kids with Veggies and Fruit.

The Favors:

I had two favor bags. Not someething I normally do, but once I realized that the Dinosaur kits I purchased as favors wouldn't fit I decided to create a second one. I filled the smaller orange bags with Dinossaur eggs from the Dollar Store and added some gummy Dinosaurs. I decorated the bags with ribbon and a tag that said " Thanks for a ROOOAARING Good Time!". In the larger bags I included the Dinosaur Kids. I decorated this bag with 3inch circle bag fronts with my son's name. It actually worked out well since everything fit inside eachother and even left enough room for the candy they collected from the pinata.

The Games:

This time we decided not to organize any games but rather just let the kids play. I placed all kinds of activities related to the theme all over the house; Dinosaur toys, coloring pages, Playdough, Hot Wheels Dino Track and a large Dinosaur puzzle.

The Pinata:

Ok, so this time I picked up a pre-made pinata. There was just no time and I really thought this one was cute!

Once the cake and presents were all opened, my poor little Dinosaur crashed in Daddy's arms.

Happy Birthday my sweet little Dinosaur!
